Fern Hill Landscaping & Nursery is seeking a motivated and experienced Landscape Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. We are a small company based in Richmond, VA focused on sustainable landscaping and gardening. We design and install landscapes and maintain properties of various sizes throughout the area. The position being offered is a full-time seasonal job (March – December), with possible opportunity for year-round employment. As a Landscape Maintenance Supervisor, you will be the main point of contact for our clients on site when the owner of Fern Hill is not present, oversee and instruct landscape crew members, and partake in the maintenance of our customers’ properties and installation jobs. Quality of work is paramount and attention to detail is a must.
Location: Richmond, VA
Hours: 40 hrs. / week
Pay: Competitive (based on experience)

Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to, the following):
- Oversee, instruct & transport landscape crew members
- Consulting with and creating estimates for potential clients
- Assist in the hiring process for new team members
- Scheduling
- Service & maintain equipment
- Leaf cleanup
- Mowing lawns
- Aerating, seeding & fertilizing lawns
- Installing mulch
- Weed maintenance & control
- Pruning & trimming plants
- Planting trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, grasses, sod, etc.
- Installing hardscape features
Requirements:
- Previous experience in landscaping; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in horticulture or related field preferred
- Managerial experience
- Ability to both give and take instruction
- Detail-oriented & motivated
- Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds
- Ability to interact with clients in a positive and friendly manner
- Valid driver’s license
- Comfortable driving a company truck and towing a trailer
